Third store for Vanhoutteghem opened in the city center of Ghent (BE)
The Vanhoutteghem family business was founded two generations ago in Ghent. Brother and sister Vanhoutteghem are now opening the third store in the city center of Ghent.
With the third generation of jewelers, Vanhoutteghem Time & Jewelry has been located on Dampoortstraat for a long time. Space became available in the center and people saw the potential. Vanhoutteghem Boutique opened in September at a beautiful A1 location, with the right audience and good brands such as Essentiel Antwerp and Galleria Laurenzo. The new store focuses on contemporary quality brands such as Tissot, Rado, Longines, Seiko, Montblanc and more. The shop in shop brands get their own place within the Vanhoutteghem formula.
The design of custom showcases in a transparent shop window
Nico Schreuder from WSB: ‘The WSB team had to deal with the challenges of the building, with its long facade and limited depth. For this purpose we have developed a shop window where jewelery and timepieces can be admired on both sides. What we paid close attention to due to the shallow space is that the store window is transparent enough to look into the store and the customer is made curious to catch a glimpse of the refined interior.
The preservation of the existing natural stone contributes to the timeless appearance of the store. Despite the narrow space of the store, there is good circulation along the table without disrupting the sales conversation. In terms of materials, we used beautiful Alphenberg leather on both the walls and the table. In combination with linen and wood structures, it forms a harmonious whole. The showcases are designed with Elitís wallpaper, and the ceiling is finished with beautiful Jacopo fabric from Romo. This is not only for aesthetics, but also ensures an excellent acoustic, sound-dampening effect. The result is a jewelry store that not only shines through its collection, but also through its well-thought-out design that lifts the customer experience to new heights.’
The collaboration between design, planning, production and assembly
After detailed elaboration by WSB’s project leaders, the design took shape in our factory, thanks to the craftsmanship of our furniture makers. WSB’s installation team then completed the project on location in Ghent in a short period of time. To the customer’s great satisfaction.
